I am an English-educated teacher with more than 20 years of experience delivering high-quality instruction to both Teenagers and Adults. Alongside my background in English-language education, I have developed extensive expertise in teaching Mathematics.
Since relocating to Sweden in 2018, I have taught Adults online and worked with students aged 11 to 16 at the International English School. I specialize in teaching Mathematics in English, including to learners for whom English is a second or third language. My lessons are bilingual when beneficial, helping students connect mathematical concepts to real-life contexts and supporting deeper understanding as they progress academically.
I teach in alignment with both the Swedish and English curricula, including LGR22, KS3, GCSE, and IGCSE standards. I also provide global online tuition for KS3, KS4/GCSE, IGCSE, and LGR22.
My approach focuses on identifying and addressing students’ areas of difficulty, keeping them on track with school requirements, and preparing them effectively for assessments based on their school’s exam board.
All online sessions are delivered via Google Meet and are available as personalized one-to-one lessons or small group sessions arranged by parents.
For added assurance, I maintain an up-to-date police clearance that is renewed annually.
During the course with you, you explained everything in a detailed but fun way. You first explained the hardest way and later the easier one which showed that math was not that hard after all. You let us work with friends so we could also share our ideas between ourselves. And chill lessons made me like math even more. You did not have the need to ask if something was unclear because you explained everything so everybody understood. You taught me how to think not how to count, you showed how to divide a math problem in different parts to make it more clear. The best part was that you made me like math and not hate it, which made everything much easier!
Before, I didn’t really like math at all. Omid changed that. Now I really enjoy it. He explains and teaches difficult concepts in a simple way. It helped me improve both my understanding and my grades. His classes were by far the best at school.
Thank you for a great course! One of the biggest improvements for me was learning how to approach more difficult algebra and function problems in a structured way instead of just guessing where to start. Your explanations made challenging parts much easier to understand and the practice problems helped me build confidence before my exams. Especially the national test questions. These specific questions helped me the most for our national tests in maths. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to strengthen both their math skills and their confidence.
During this course my problem solving skills have improved a lot. Questions that felt impossible before are now manageable but still challenging in a good way. Omid helped make math both easier and interesting, and also made it easier for me to answer more questions on a higher level.
This ”course” helped me improve not only my math skills but also my confidence. What I appreciated the most was that Omid was always supportive, patient, and believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. He taught me that it’s okay to make mistakes because that’s how you learn and improve. Thanks to his teaching, I became more confident in math and enjoyed learning much more, and now I understand why you should do the things you do in math, which I think plays a key roll in learning.
During my lessons with Mr. Zarif I learned how to use multiple methods and techniques to solve different math problems. Most math teachers teach one or two methods that they find easy but I found it really helpful to be able to choose freely between multiple methods. That diversity promoted a deeper understanding and better long-term retention!
Your lessons helped me improve both by explaining
problems and how to solve them. It was also very helpful to have these extra papers with questions, not only ones from the book. One thing I had a lot of trouble with before was graphs and how to write the formula for a graph. This was mostly because I missed the first lesson of the topic. However, when I came and asked for help you explained it very clearly and helped me understand.
The thing that was most useful was probably the explanations and the way that you went through every hard question and every way to solve different problems and different rules and ways of counting, like the KCF method.
I would highly recommend attending the course as it can help someone else improve just as much as it helped me!
Mr. Zarif has been a wonderful teacher. He doesn’t just teach math to his students, he cares for them all. With that being said his lessons consist of great explanations where he explains new subjects in a way that helps all students understand. Afterwards he lets us work on the parts we struggle with most and helps us challenge ourselves. He’s great at what he does and has helped me improve my understanding of maths!
Before taking this course, I found fractions and percentages difficult to understand. The lessons explained everything in a clear and simple way, which made these topics much easier for me. As the course went on, I became more confident in math and felt less nervous when answering questions. What I found most useful was how each topic was explained step by step with plenty of examples. I now understand math much better and feel more prepared for tests.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their math skills. The lessons are easy to follow and help you build confidence while learning.

This course helped me in many ways but it especially made me understand and like maths more. Something I found difficult before the course was knowing where to start when doing problem solving. Omid helped me learn how to solve problem solving questions step by step.
After learning and understanding more throughout the course I felt more confident solving questions. What I found most useful about the lessons was knowing that I could always ask omid for help when working with different questions.
